I complaint to customer service of Idea telephone regarding recharge of 399 which was done on 21-7-17 and a confirmation SMS was received but the plan of Unlimited free calls was not activated and thus I wrote a complaint.

After sending the email I received a call from 0091-91-22-460613. The man told me that he is calling from Idea customer service in response to my complaint. He said as your mobile does not come under the scheme of Rs. 399 offer we will reverse your money back.

I told I checked your offer and dialed the offer requirement so how now I am not eligible for the offer? He told me we must reverse the money to your account. He told me to get my debate card number or credit card number. I said I paid the amount from online banking and thus he does not need any card number. He said give me your ATM card number for this transaction. As the caller was giving all information regarding my complaint I did not doubt that he is a fake caller. After some argument I gave him my card number, when he asked for cvc number I said no way I will give this number.

My sixth sense alerted me. He said please keep line open till you receive a SMS from the bank. I received SMS from bank OTP number. This was the point of alert, the caller said, give me the number you have received from your bank. I said to him I am not a fool and I wanted to cut the communication but he said ok there is another SMS has come to your mobile give me the number. I said I don’t want the money you are a fraud, hearing this he started abusing me. I do not want to repeat the words. After I hanged I received SMS from my bank that my card is blocked due to suspicious activities. It shows that the caller wanted to either transfer money or buy something on my card, as he could not get the OTP he used some arbitrary numbers this led bank to block my card.

Thanks to my God for alerting me for not falling is his trap. However there are following questions.

1) How the person came to know about my complaint which I sent to customer care? It is sure that the person is either an employee of the Idea, who has approach to Idea email system.

2) He may be friend of any employee who has official approach to their emails. 

3) He may be a hacker and has hacked the email system of Idea.

4) I am sure that he read my email and came to know my number my complaint                  and the amount I paid for the services.

This is sure case which Idea should investigate but Idea only called me, telling that the number is not of Idea and they insisted that as per policy the information cannot be leaked. They never bothered to make any internal inquiry as it may expose their own employee. They insisted that I go to police station and lodge a FIR. As I know how difficult it is to lodge a complaint at police station as the crime never happened. Secondly without spending nearly 3000 to 5000 no police is ready to file a FIR.

This is a sure case of leaking information from Idea customer service and it is too dangerous for Idea and Idea customers, but after various discussions their representative keeps on repeating same song “We have a policy not to give any customer information to anybody”

 

Police can easily trace the number, which is 0091-91-22-460613. The call was received on my number 9552424369 dated July 23, 2017. @1:08 PM.
