This is to bring in to your notice that I have posted an AD on OLX on 1st dec 2019,
for which I got a chat response in the morning of 2nd Dec 2019 at 7:49 from a user Shrikant Saini asking for mobile number, lowest price and the age of the product,
After my reply at 8:23 am, the buyer contacted me by call (no.- 9520023317) and agreed to pay 7000 by google pay, he mentioned that he would send someone to pick up the product in the evening.
he shared a google pay QR code through whatsapp number- 9058760397 and told me to accept the transaction for 5 rs as a test, I did so and 5 rs got deducted from my account and I got a debit of 10 rs (UPI transaction ID- 933608092190, from : Sreekanth varma Dantuluri, google transaction Id- CICAgKC2j8PYYg, from: sreekantharmy@myicici)
He mentioned that 5rs are debited and 10 are credited and asked me to check the account balance after that, then he shared the QR codes for 7000 and asked me to process from my google pay when i did that the amount got deducted from my balance, he told since his account was a merchant account hence he needs to put in a password for it to go through,
then shared another 14000 QR code and said that once you proceed with this you will get back the 7000 and another 7000 which he wanted to pay for the product, I processed the transaction and realized that 14k has been deducted again from my account , then I got suspicious and asked him to transfer back the amount right away to which he again shared a 28000QR code and asked me to process so that I can get the amount back, the last transaction did not go through and then I realized that he has 21 k of my amount and was just buying time to figure out Paytm OTP as well,
I declined to further engage and asked him to send across the amount back, since then he got disconnected and has been unresponsive since then.
Dear Sir- it seems like they had been operating as a syndicate and the 3 out of 4 msgs which I received were later blocked by OLX stating spurious users, later I could also hear other people in background asking for the similar details from other OLX users,
His numbers were working till 1 PM on 2nd Dec and I believe if we action on them soon, they can be exposed...
