On 8th March, 2023, my sister received a call from an army person Sachin Sharma that he is interested in renting out my house which my sister had listed for renting online. He said his family is shifting to bangalore and does not like to stay in thr army quarters. He asked for the photos and videos of the house, agreed to pay advance of 25K to book the house. He asked for my sister's GPay details. He didn't want to visit the place to check the house and he was in a hurry. He even sent his aadhar details. This got my sister suspicious and she asked me to check for a possible scam. I couldn't find his presence in any social media and just when I searched for " Fake sachin sharma" on my browser, I got many websites, blogs talking about this fraud. As per others' experiences, the fraud would have asked the victim to share UPI details and sent a QR which victim has to scan to get the booking advance. Many victims entered their UPI pin and lost money instead. Beware of such frauds!
