An unknown middle-aged lady wearing apron and i-card came today afternoon at my home in Kolkata in the name of selling Hindustan Unilever Product. My daughter purchased one product from her. After that the lady asked my daughter to give a missed-call to the Toll-free number 1800120170170. Then my daughter received a message in mobile which contained a 8-digit code. The lady asked my daughter to share that 8-digit code with her to complete the process of survey. My daughter shared the code but became suspicious when the lady asked to click a photograph of her with the product. She objected to do so and the lady left.
Later on my daughter checked in the internet that similar fraud cases happened with many people previously in different states... Complaints are registered and tagged with the same Toll free number.
So I am now scared. I request the officials of Cyber Crime to look into this matter and kindly suggest us the next course of action.
